monday.com integration

Lead source on your monday CRM boards.

monday is built on boards and columns, not a fixed CRM record. Your lead source is a column you made. Capture the real source, landing page and full page journey, and let Zapier write it into that column automatically.

What monday captures, and what it misses

monday is board-based. There is no native source field.

monday.com runs a CRM the way it runs everything: a board of items, each with columns you define. There is no fixed Lead Source field, because there is no fixed lead record. Whatever source tracking you have is a column someone added, filled in by hand. It is flexible, and it is exactly as accurate as the person typing into it.

What a monday board usually holds

A column you maintain

  • A status or text column named Source or Channel
  • Set manually when an item is created
  • Often left blank when the team is busy
What it leaves out

Everything past the channel name

  • The campaign behind the click
  • The landing page they arrived on
  • The pages they read before submitting, ending on the page that converted them

The short of it: Lead Source records the source, landing page and journey at the moment of submission, then hands the lead to Zapier so the right board columns fill themselves.

How the connection works

Captured on your site. Written to your board through Zapier.

monday connects through the monday.com Zapier app. There is no separate "monday CRM" connector, because monday CRM is a board template, not a different product. Zapier creates an item and sets its column values, and columns are monday’s whole field model.

  1. 01
From the first visit on, Lead Source captures the real source, campaign, landing page and full page journey.
  2. 02
When the form is submitted, Lead Source captures the lead and passes it to Zapier.
  3. 03
Your Zap runs the monday.com Create Item action on your CRM board, then Update Item to set column values. The Update Item action can change multiple column values at once, so your Source, Campaign and Landing Page columns all fill in one step.
  4. 04
The item appears on the board with the real source already set, ready for whoever picks it up.

Only the verified monday.com Zapier actions, writing into the columns you already have.

01

Add the snippet to your pages

Paste the Lead Source script before the closing </head> on any page that has a form. It records the source, landing page and journey for every visitor.

02

Connect Lead Source to monday in Zapier

Create a Zap with Lead Source as the trigger and the monday.com Create Item action on your CRM board. Add an Update Item step to set the column values.

03

Map the source into your columns

Point the captured source, campaign and landing page at your Source, Campaign and Landing Page columns. Send a test submission with a UTM and watch the item appear with the columns filled.

Integration details verified against the monday.com Zapier connector on 30 June 2026. We confirmed the Create Item and Update Item actions exist and that Update Item can change multiple column values. monday.com is listed on Zapier as a Project Management app; there is no separate monday CRM connector.

When this isn’t the right fit

When a board isn’t the right place for this.

A few cases where this setup will not serve you, said straight.

  • You expect a fixed CRM lead record with built-in source reporting. monday is board-based; you build and maintain the columns yourself.
  • You have not set up Source and Campaign columns on the board. The Zap can only fill columns that exist.
  • Most of your leads come in by phone or referral conversation rather than a web form.
Common questions

Questions, answered.

Does monday have a lead source field?

Not a native one. monday.com is board-based, so there is no fixed lead record and no built-in Lead Source field. Your source tracking is a column you add to the board. Lead Source fills that column through Zapier with the real source captured at form submission.

Is there a separate monday CRM Zapier connector?

No. The connector is the monday.com app, listed on Zapier under Project Management. monday CRM is a board template inside monday.com, not a separate product, so the same connector and the same Create Item and Update Item actions cover it.

Can Zapier set several board columns at once?

Yes. The monday.com Update Item action can change multiple column values of an item in one step, so your Source, Campaign, and Landing Page columns all fill together rather than one Zap step each.
