The Lead Source plugin is now live in the Framer Marketplace. You add it to your Framer project from the Plugins panel, and it drops Lead Source into your site without you touching the custom code settings. We have run Lead Source on Framer as a hosted script for a while, and that still works. But a marketplace plugin removes the one step that stops people: editing site code. Here is what it does and when each setup fits.

Why a plugin when there is already a script

The script does one job well. One line in your Framer site's custom code, and every form submission lands in your Lead Source dashboard with the source already attached. That is not going anywhere.

But pasting code into a site's settings is the part that stalls people. Framer users are used to adding features from the Marketplace in a couple of clicks, not opening the custom code panel to drop in a script tag. The plugin closes that gap. You install it the way you install anything else in Framer, and it wires Lead Source into your site for you.

What the plugin does

Once it is added to your project, the plugin puts Lead Source on your Framer site with no code editing on your side. Every Framer form submission is recorded with the source attached: the channel the visitor arrived from, the landing page, and the page journey that led to the form. Those leads land in your Lead Source dashboard, the same place the script sends them.

The plugin and the script capture the same thing. The only difference is how Lead Source gets onto the site: a Marketplace install, or a line you paste yourself.

Plugin or script, which fits

Pick the plugin if you would rather not open Framer's custom code settings and want the fastest way to add Lead Source to a Framer site.

Pick the script if you are comfortable pasting one line into custom code, or you want the exact same snippet across Framer and non-Framer sites so everything is set up the same way.

The capture is identical either way, and both send leads to your Lead Source dashboard. If you want to see both side by side, the Framer lead tracking page lays them out.
