Two of those catch people out. The 500-submission storage cap is a lifetime total, so you can hit it without ever exceeding 100 in a month, and when you exceed a cap, Jotform disables every form in the account, not just the one that filled up.

Typeform’s own cut is covered on free alternatives to Typeform, and the three builders are set against each other attribute by attribute on Jotform vs Typeform vs Tally.

Where Jotform genuinely wins

Jotform’s template library runs to tens of thousands, and its widget catalogue, PDF tooling, approval flows and HIPAA options on higher tiers are unmatched by the free alternatives. If you need a form for an unusual use case and you need it in ten minutes, Jotform will have a template for it and Tally will not. The breadth is real and it is the reason to stay.

The question a form builder cannot answer

Every tool above records what someone typed into a form. None of them records how that person found you, what they read before they enquired, or which campaign brought them in.

If your forms exist to generate business, that missing piece is the one that tells you where to spend. Lead Source captures source, landing page and full page journey on every submission, free on one site, and works alongside whichever form builder you choose, Jotform included.

If you are choosing the form itself rather than tracking one you have, lead capture software is the place to start, and there are free, ready-made forms on form templates. Moving to Tally? The setup is on Tally lead tracking.
