How to track lead source in WPForms
WPForms sends you the enquiry. Lead Source names the ad, search or page that produced it, so you know which campaign to back.

Name, email and request, plus the channel that sent them. Every time.
WPForms Lite, fully tracked
Lite emails the submission. Lead Source keeps the lead, source attached.
WPForms AJAX, counted
Smooth for the visitor, credited for you. No thank-you page involved.
One WPForms snippet, every form
It covers any other form plugin on the same site as well.
Credit every WPForms enquiry
Somebody fills in your WPForms contact form and you get their name, their email and what they want. Lead Source adds the campaign that earned them, and the fact they read your pricing page twice over nine days before getting in touch. That is a lead with a story.
- The source, the channel, the full UTM set.
- Click IDs, landing page and referrer.
- First and last visit, plus the pages between.

WPForms Lite, fully tracked
WPForms Lite emails each submission and writes nothing to your WordPress database. Lite Connect can back entries up to the cloud, though inside Lite you only see a count. Lead Source records the visit and the submission from the page itself. On Lite, the lead lives in Lead Source.
- Every Lite submission saved as a lead.
- Source and campaign on each one.
- Paid versions add entries on your site as well.
Your WPForms addons keep their jobs
Lead Source never modifies your forms and leaves the rest of the tracking on the page alone. The WPForms Google Analytics and conversion addons carry on as before. The attribution simply lands beside them.
WPForms AJAX, counted
Like most modern form plugins, WPForms can submit without reloading the page. Visitors like that. Conversion tracking that waits for a thank-you page to load sits it out. Lead Source captures the submission where it happens, so every AJAX enquiry arrives credited.
- Keep the smooth submit your visitors enjoy.
- No redirect to a thank-you page.
- Channel and campaign on every AJAX lead.
- /blog/managed-it-costs
- /managed-it
- /contact
- First touch
- Organic search
- Last touch
- Google Ads
One WPForms snippet, every form
- Install the free WPCode plugin from the WordPress plugin directory.
- Open Code Snippets, then Header and Footer, paste the Lead Source tracking code into the Header section and save.
- Clear your page cache. Then send a test enquiry.
No hidden fields and no per-form configuration. A second form plugin on the same site is covered too. More on WordPress lead tracking.

How do I track the source of a WPForms submission?
Add the Lead Source tracking code to your site header with WPCode, then clear the page cache. Each WPForms submission then arrives in Lead Source with its channel, campaign, click IDs, landing page and page journey, on Lite and paid plans alike.
When does a WPForms lead carry less attribution?
When Lead Source never saw that visitor on your website before they submitted. There is no visit to match, so attribution on that lead is limited or unknown. Clear the page cache after installing, too.
WPForms questions, answered.
Does this work on WPForms Lite?
Yes, and it is arguably more useful there, because Lite does not store entries on your site at all. The lead and its source land in Lead Source either way.
Do I need to add hidden fields to my WPForms forms?
No. That is the method this replaces.
Will it conflict with the WPForms Google Analytics or conversion addons?
No. Lead Source does not modify your forms and does not interfere with other tracking on the page.
